Healing the Heart Song

In 2016, I was invited by Lauren Davis of Skoda Man Press to contribute a story to the comics anthology Sci-Fi San Francisco. The only requirement was that the comic take place in San Francisco and have a science fiction bent. Of course, I said yes and promised a ten-page story—the maximum allowed. I took reference photos while I was living in San Francisco and drew the comic after my then-partner and I relocated to New Mexico. The story is based on a mushroom journey they experienced in the Golden Gate Park Rose Garden, where otherworldly beings visited and healed them. I had a lot of fun bringing those descriptions to life as we created the immortal character Climb Sungazer together.
